Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity,
works on practical projects to encourage people to walk, cycle and use public transport for health,
safety and environmental reasons. Our aim is to create a Safe Route to School for every child in the
UK.
Northern Ireland KS3 curriculum resource 'Making the Links'
This resource includes planning tools and lesson plans which guide teachers through the links between School Travel Plans and the curriculum. It aims to provide an overview of where work developing a school travel plan can be done in the classroom by schools (and meet NI National Curriculum requirement ) and where sustainable/active travel to school can be used as a topic to deliver many NI National Curriculum subject requirements.
Routes 2 Action
Routes 2 Action is a dedicated resource for School Champions to exchange ideas and information. A school champion is a parent, teacher, governor, pupil or anyone else who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and make SRS projects happen in their school.
